It was gorgeous here today – 86°. Tomorrow will be cold and rainy again.
Take a walk in the garden with me?
pretty little gregii tulips with fancy foliage open with the sun and close again at night
one of my favorite heirloom tulips couleur cardinal
epimedium flowers - ephemeral and easy to overlook
lily flowering tulips greet the sun
woodland windflowers under the dogwoods

I didn’t get any tulips planted last fall so will enjoy yours and any ‘volunteers’ that spring forth. When we get spring that is. I see tarragon shoots, some grasses starting to shoot and the tips of iris. I’m ready!

How beautiful. My tulips haven’t opened. It is nice to see green coming back. Your garden looks amazing.

Your garden is beautiful. And I love the garden mascot too! 🙂

Tulips are lovely! Wish I could grow tulips; but there are too many deer scampering in the front yard. They ate 300 bulbs last year. They like my daylilies too!
Dana
My first daffodil came out today. Thanks for sharing your garden photos. Beautiful.

Cathy, you’re making me jealous! Spring has not sprung here just yet. Would love to see your dogwoods in bloom…

How glorious. We’re a couple of weeks behind you up here, and the deer eat tulips so I gave up planting them. But the ramps are up, so that’s some consolation. Speaking of which, my April hot-smoking post is up. I hope it’s OK to post the link here in your beautiful garden: http://www.acookblog.com/2011/04/kraftsmanship.html
Cheers!

I am so jealous! I’ve got daffadills but not much else and sadly, I have hunch the deep have been eating my tulips, along with lots of other stuff, too 🙁
