We visited the cherry blossoms today. As we do most years, we got up before the sun and jumped in the car and ooh’ed and aah’ed our way around our city.

It’s breathtakingly beautiful at the Tidal Basin. It was packed with people who clearly love pink.

And, right on time, with all the other trees blooming across this city, the one we planted 13 years ago stands tall and petal-full.

Get outside and smell Spring. Feel the sun on your face. Fill a vase with flowers.

My wife and I visited several years ago and loved it. You took great photographs!

We went to DC one year when we lived in NC just to see the Cherry Blossoms; they did not disappoint. I also loved this time of year in NC with all of the azaleas and rhododendrons in bloom; what a glorious time of your for your part of the country.

Somewhere I have a great photo of Graham, probably no more than 9 or 10, giddily perched on a branch surrounded by those fabulous blooms. It was a similarly spectacular view – but it snowed the very next day!

Your photos are spectacular. We live close enough to come see the blooms and have some of our own. There is an area on Rte. 15 south of Gettysburg that apparently has just the right soil for redbuds, because there are a myriad of them blooming, both wild and planted. I would recommend it.

Walking under the cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin is a an incomparable feeling – the beauty of the blossoms is breathtaking. But, what was struck a chord in me was seeing people from all over the globe smiling and admiring the beauty. There is Peace on Earth. We just need to recognize it.
